| dc.description.abstract | The research delved into a comprehensive exploration of the effect of digitalization on the performance of insurance companies, focusing its investigation on Prudential Assurance Uganda Limited as a representative case study. The research was guided by three objectives: to identify the effect of digitalization on the performance of insurance companies; to identify the effect of digital marketing on the performance of insurance companies; to establish the relationship between E-underwriting and the performance of insurance companies. Employing a case study design and adopting a purely quantitative methodology, data was collected from 44 respondents through structured questionnaires and it was analyzed using the SPSS software. The study findings revealed Digitalization has a substantial and positive impact on the performance of insurance companies with majority of the respondents agreeing to this cause. The data reveals that the implementation of digital technologies significantly enhances operational efficiency, positively influences the speed and accuracy of claim processing and enhances customer engagement and interaction. These findings underscore the transformative role of digitalization in optimizing operational processes and delivering improved service outcomes in the insurance industry. In addition, the study concluded that there is positive correlation between E-underwriting and the company's performance. E-underwriting has been shown to improve the accuracy of risk assessments, expedite policy issuance, reduce underwriting costs, and manage high volumes of insurance applications effectively. However, the relationship with fraud detection ability is less pronounced. This positive correlation suggests that while E-underwriting significantly enhances several operational aspects, its impact on fraud management may require further attention. To further enhance the performance of insurance companies the study recommends to continue advancing digitalization efforts. The significant improvements in operational efficiency underscore the need for ongoing investment in cutting-edge digital tools and technologies | |
