| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT. The study sought to assess the supply chain constraints to the effective sales performance of pharmacies in Kampala. The study was guided by three objectives that included; identifying the supply chain practices applied at First Pharmacy Wandegeya, examining the ways of measuring sales performance at First Pharmacy Wandegeya and finding out the supply chain constraints at First Pharmacy Wandegeya. The study undertook across-sectional research design employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data was from 36 respondents was collected using Questionnaires and interview guide. The data was then analysed using statistical package for social scientists (SPSS) data analysis guide. According to the study's data, First Pharmacy Wandegeya's supply chain practices include the following: we actively involve our key suppliers in the development of new products; we regularly assess the significance of our relationship with our customers; we regularly solve problems together with our suppliers; we consider quality as our number one criterion when selecting suppliers; and our trading partners share proprietary information with us. Similarly, the study found that First Pharmacy Wandegeya's supply chain was constrained by its failure to quickly identify potentially disruptive events, its risk of being fully operational on time, its optimization of inventory levels, its just-in-time delivery, overstocking, and possible ripple effects. The study concluded that career development and personnel training were necessary. Additional human resource strategies, such as employee engagement and empowerment, which provide staff members the authority to reduce waste and pollution by taking appropriate action, can enhance First Pharmacy Wandegeya's operational performance. | |
