| dc.description.abstract | The study investigated the role of Green Supply Chain Management on organization performance (A case of Century Bottling Company Limited-Namanve Branch). The general objective of the study was to examine the role of Green Supply Chain Management on organization Performance at Century Bottling Company Limited which was guided by three objectives. To assess the role of green purchasing on organization performance, examine the role of green packaging on organization performance, and determine the relationship between green manufacturing and organization performance. The study included 130 employees from Century Bottling Company and a sample size of 107. The study used a cross- sectional research design with quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to examine qualitative data showing the correlation and regression analysis of data. A simple random sampling method was used. The findings from the study indicated that Century bottling company priorities environmentally friendly products and suppliers in their procurement decisions and also integrate the green initiatives in procurement processes that positively contribute to the overall performance for example achieve cost savings, efficiency in their operations, increase in revenue, minimized environmental impact of their products and operations which indicates that aligning green practices in the supply chain positively resonates with customers. The green initiatives align with the environmental regulations and standards and there is a clear strategy in place to continually improve green practices. However, the study uncovers several challenges encountered in the adoption of green initiatives. These challenges include technological limitations, high costs and limited availability in implementing green practices, supplier limitations. In conclusion, green supply chain management positively affects organization performance as evidenced by the correlation analysis that takes into account multiple parameters. The green supply chain practices benefit not only organizations but also environment and society.
