| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT This research report was undertaken to examine “The impact of the Parish Development Model Program And the social Economic life of the people of Namabasa Sub-county”. The Parish Development Model (PDM) Program, an initiative by the Ugandan government, aims to eradicate poverty by empowering local communities through localized planning and resource allocation. The study was taken to o specifically examine how PDM has influenced key-social economic indicators such as low income levels, employment rates, access to social services, and community development- wellbeing of the people in Namabasa Sub-county. The researcher used a mixed methods approach, the research collected both quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews and focus group discussions with community members, local leaders and program implementers. The study was to also compare the social economic indicators of Namabasa Sub-county before and after the implementation of the PDM to assess the program’s effectiveness. The findings of this research provided valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of the PDM and offered recommendations for enhancing its impact on the social economic life of the people in Namabasa Sub-county. The research also contributed to the broader discourse on community- based development programs and their role in achieving sustainable development in Uganda. | |
