| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT Fleet management is a critical aspect of any organization and this research investigates the critical role of fleet management in optimizing operational costs within the context of Eastern Uganda. Given the region’s unique geographical, economical, and social conditions, understanding how effective management practices can contribute to cost reduction is vital. The study will employ a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research techniques. Quantitative data will be collected through surveys and statistical analysis, while qualitative data will be gathered through interviews. Key areas of focus will include: Identifying the primary factors contributing to fleet operating costs in Eastern Uganda, such as fuel consumption, and maintenance expenses, also examining the current state of fleet management practices in the region, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance and utilization, cost saving strategies will be another area of focus by evaluating the various cost measures, such as telematics, fuel cards, and driver training among others. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights for businesses, policymakers, and fleet managers operating in Eastern Uganda. By understanding the specific challenges and opportunities related to fleet management, organizations can make informed decisions to optimize their operations reduce costs and improve efficiency. | |
