dc.description.abstractSmall and medium enterprises play vital role in the Ugandan economy, contributing to over 90% of private sector employment and 70% of GDP. however, SME often face challenges in accessing government procurement contracts, which can limit their growth and development . this study examines the impact of procurement practises in Mukono district government on the performance of SME in the district. The study used mixed methods approach combining quantitative and qualitative data from questionnaires given to stake holders including small business owners , government organisations and procurement experts. the findings revealed that the procurement practices of Mukono district local government have a significant impact on the performance of Small and medium enterprises
