| dc.description.abstract | The general objective of the study was to examine the impact of market risk on the invention in small scale enterprises in Makindye division. After carrying out the exercise, considering all the objectives of the study, it was found evident that the largest constraint limiting the invention of small scale enterprises in Makindye was capital. The highest number and percentage of people expressed that capital was the largest constraint affecting their investment in invention where they revealed that the resources that were required to turn these ideas into feasible products were too expensive for example advanced technology in machinery hence making their ideas far from possible achievements. Examine how competition affects the invention of small scale enterprises, to examine the contribution of funds or capital to limitation of the invention of small scale enterprises, to identify the role of customer tastes and preferences on the invention of small and medium enterprises. The findings of the study revealed that capital is a significant constraint leading to limitation of invention in small scale enterprises given the fact that turning these innovative ideas into feasible products comes at a cost that indeed acts act as a standing block for these business owners to put into reality. The random sampling technique was used to contact and access respondents for collection of data that was used in the study. In conclusion, it was evident that market risk is crucial in determining invention of small scale enterprises. This implies and reveals the need for firms to apply risk management in their operations for it is very determinant for not only invention but financial performance of their firms as well. The study recommendations suggested the need for government support and intervention in SSEs activities and ensuring proper risk management programs so as to identify and mitigate them in order to improve financial performance and invention is SSEs | |
