Theological Reflection on Noise Pollution in Modern-Day Christian Worship: A Case Study at St. Andrews Church Angwetangwet Parish Headquarters

Abstract

This study examines the problem of noise in contemporary worship and centers on Saint Andrew’s Church in Angwetangwet, Uganda. The study aimed to evaluate why there is so much noise during worship services and how best this issue needs to be mitigated. First sources were taken from the researcher’s initial observation at church as a primary source and secondly from books, journals, etc. Results indicate that public spaces and music are responsible for excessive noise leading to distraction among worshipers. Moreover, this research also concerns itself with the restoration of sacredness in worship areas and the spiritual growth of believers through managing noise pollution in places where Christians gather to pray.
