dc.description.abstractIn an era marked by dynamic market landscapes and heightened competition, organizations continually seek ways to enhance their operational efficiency and customer satisfaction to achieve sustainable growth. This study undertakes a comprehensive exploration of the intricate interplay between logistics management practices and organizational performance, taking the Mukwano Group of Companies as its illustrative case study. The research delves into the multifaceted dimensions of logistics strategies, including inventory management, transportation management, and customer service practices, and their profound impact on the overall performance metrics of the organization.Methodologically, a rigorous mixed-methods approach was adopted, drawing insights from the perspectives of 42 employees through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews. This multifaceted data collection process ensured a holistic and nuanced understanding of how logistics practices shape the operational landscape of Mukwano Group of Companies. The research findings unveil the critical role that logistics management practices play in enhancing the operational efficiency and overall performance of the organization. Firstly, it is evident that adept inventory management practices are intrinsically linked to a remarkable reduction in production bottlenecks. This reduction translates into a streamlined operational workflow, facilitating smoother production processes. Simultaneously, these inventory practices also emerge as champions in ensuring the timely delivery of products to customers, a cornerstone of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The study thus underscores the holistic advantages of implementing and excelling in inventory management practices. the study sheds light on the integration of advanced transportation management systems, offering a comprehensive view of their impact on the organization. It is evident that the adoption of these systems correlates with optimized route planning, effectively minimizing transit times and the associated costs. Furthermore, these systems contribute to bolstering operational efficiency, showcasing their strategic significance in modern logistics.and also the research delves deep into the domain of customer service practices. Effective complaint management, a key facet of customer service, emerges as a catalyst for improving customer satisfaction levels. The study reveals that a proactive approach to complaint handling not only resolves issues efficiently but also fosters trust and loyalty among customers. Moreover, maintaining consistent and high-quality customer service across diverse communication channels is found to be pivotal in nurturing enduring customer relationships. In conclusion, this research paints a vivid picture of logistics management practices as pivotal strategic levers for Mukwano Group of Companies. By excelling in these logistics domains and addressing areas of potential improvement, the organization is poised to remain competitive and resilient in an ever-evolving business landscape.
